JOY UNSPEAKABLE JOY!!

JOY THAT UNSPEAKABLE JOY- 1 Peter. 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.

Joy is not happiness and happiness is not joy. Happiness is circumstantial. Here one moment and gone the next.

Joy on the other hand is a heart posture In the Greek bible the word joy is Chara. Joy is a gift of God, it comes when we are aware of the grace and favor of God.

In Jam. 1:2-3 it’s called pure joy because when we face trial it’s the testing of our faith in that trial that produces perseverance.

 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

we are also told in Neh. 8:10 that the joy of the Lord is our strength ;Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness according to the dictionary definition, but the joy that I’m speaking about comes from the presence of God in Psa. 16:11 You make known to me the path of life;    you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Joy is one of the characteristics of God’s love from the Holy Spirit as spoken about in Gal. 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

So, is joy as all the other characteristics something that fills us because of God? Rom. 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, and one way to experience that joy is to stay focused on Him rather than on your problems, difficulties and other things that are robbers of your contentment. I’m not saying to ignore those situations and circumstances, I’m just saying to shift that focus back on God so your joy can be restored.

We have to remember that when we do things that pleases Him like (casting our cares) we can experience His joy. That’s something that Jesus teaches us and that is how to maintain a full amount of His joy, by keeping our focus on Him and abiding in Him, and that’s hard to do being weighed down with attacks by your enemy Satan.

Once you were born again all the fruits of the Spirit were planted on the inside of you in seed form. Because of the Spirit we can experience joy and peace in every circumstance no matter how painful or difficult.

Unbelievers can also display this quality (but) in happiness form which is circumstantial, and when conditions are positive. Joy which is one of the nine fold fruits of the Spirit is not what we do but who we are and is always on display for others to see when we go through circumstances that are not favorable to us. And how we act and respond to that issue will allow the unbeliever to see that joy and peace in us given by Jesus so they will be able to see and taste that the Lord is good all from your position: Psa. 34:8  Taste and see that the Lord is good;
    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

CAN THIS JOY BE LOST?

Yes it can, lost but not taken away. When we grieve the Holy Spirit by no longer submitting humbly to the obedience of God’s will. Also when we as Christians restrict God’s love from flowing from us to another.

When this takes place we become separated from the only source of our Joy , Love, and Peace and that’s the Holy Spirit. We can grieve Him in so many different ways that rob us of our joy that we sometimes overlook which are:  being unthankful, complaining, anger, corrupt conversations, pride ect-ect.

Turning from those things can and will restore that inner joy and peace which comes from Him. So, let’s remember that no matter the situation or circumstance, stumble or fall that moves you away from that place of joy, repentance always restore you back to your rightful place and that is in Him:  1Peter. 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
